Fire-safe commercial ceiling tiles from Fenta

The Fenta Ceiling Tile has been given the highest mark for safety – code regulation 1-S – by the New Zealand Building Code Fire Safety Standards.

Fenta’s optimum fire safety rating comes at a time when the New Zealand Fire Service has been encouraging increased Building Code specifications across the market to help lower the incidence of structural fires.

Used predominantly in food preparation areas, retail fit-outs and commercial kitchens, Fenta is best known for its premium high gloss and super reflective properties that allow for maximum light.  This unique surface allows architects and designers to introduce greater amounts of illumination into areas that often have little or no natural light.

Achieving a 1-S fire rating

Now, with a fire safety rating of 1-S – the highest fire safety rating on the New Zealand Building Code Standard – it means the Fenta ceiling tile is not only rating highly as the ceiling tile that can add light to industrial kitchen areas, it’s also turning heads as one of the safest.

“Obviously we are very pleased to have a rating that high,” says Andrew Nixon for Bates Surfaces, who produce the Fenta Ceiling Tile.  “Our product is most often used in areas that can have a high fire risk, such as busy commercial kitchens, so our clients are very pleased to know that the product they are installing has that safety element covered as well.”

Built on Proven Technology

Previously known as the Hardiglaze ceiling tile, Fenta ceiling tiles are made using Bates Surfaces patented UltraLight Technology – a UV curing process that creates products with a finish of premium quality and durability – and James Hardie’s fibre cement board.

“It essentially means our Fenta ceiling tile ticks all the boxes for a premium ceiling tile product – it’s easy to clean, hygienic, vastly reflective which is perfect for food preparation areas, and, in a highly fire sensitive area such as a food preparation zone, meets the ultimate fire safety standards.”
